Cycle path from Bo'ness to Grangemouth
I would like to raise a very serious concern I have regarding the roads in and around Bo'ness.
This complaint is not regarding the state of these roads although to be fair some of them are in a terrible state! no the concern I have is regarding the lack of cycle routes in and around Bo'ness.
Having bought into the Labour governments "Cycle to work" scheme I took advantage of a tax free purchase on a new mountain bike. According to the scheme the bike should be used primarily for use to and from work. However if I do try to ride from Bo'ness to Grangemouth all I seem to be doing is taking my life in my hands every single journey!
The lack of a dedicated cycle lane causes real issues for any cyclist travelling this particular road.
There have been several serious accidents on this road involving cyclists and even sadly a fatality some years ago.
What have our Council done to address this issue?.........nothing!!
We get a poorly lit road that carries a national speed limit of 60mph on a carriageway that is full of potholes, a rough muddy "path" that you cannot possible consider as a safer alternative due to the state of it! infact the path is a hazard to the pedestrians who bravely use it on occasions! We see money being spent on roundabouts on the Lauriston by-pass road yet we see no money being spent on upgrading a dangerous road that has claimed several lives of the last few years.
Why is this Falkirk Council?
I dont want words I want action on upgrading this road!
Yours

Well said Derek, I myself an occasional cyclist have used the Boness to Grangemouth road from time to time and thought do I take life in my hands on the road or try to use the almost impassable footpath. Both the road and the footpath are in much need of upgrading for the safety of drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike. Yours Derek Newbigging
