Woodland Explorer
Woodland Explorer is a Web Application designed to show Virtual Tours of local Woodlands, Path Networks and to connect tourist locations. The idea is that the user can explore the location at eye-level using a network of photographs which help show what the area has to offer and also how to get around.
It is a prototype at the moment and the plan is to try and get funding to complete the system fromm Falkirk Council or similar bodies such that less well known communities or areas undergoing regeneration can be given a boost.
I need feedback. Please have a go - on the main site click Woodland Explorer. When the page loads click Explore Kinneil! It can take a few seconds to load. Then navigate around Kinneil Woods - you can even see inside the museum. Try and find the Steam Train videos on the hotspots. Explore outside the woods and head off to the town - take a look a the Mining Memorial and cross over the new bridge to head to the end of the pier.
I plan to organise interior shots of the Hippodrome and to add the Car Museum soon.
Please remember to email me with your views(lots of links on the site) or add a comment below. Without your input this project will most likely not go ahead. You will not get Spam or have your details passed on (I wouldn't know how even if I wanted to). Getting feedback has proved to be very difficult (I don't know why). So email me with your views - it really will be a great help. Even a few words of encouragement will be much appreciated.
