Grays in Boness
Hi, my great grandfather taught the apprentices at one of the potteries so I was delighted to find this site, it's great.
I'm a bit stumped with a place name in Boness at the moment. I have a birth certificate going back about six generations to 1799 for Boness. Instead of stating the father's name and occupation it states, John Gray in ??? It looks like the word is Pofofield or Jojofield or Jofsfield. If anyone has an idea about what it means I'd love to know. I don't know whether it's a place, ship or asylum, no clue at all.
