by Toinette Anderson

I am resreaching my husbands family and I have his Great Great Grandfather Mr Ralph Paterson living at McIntosh's Close in 1871. I cannot find any maps showing this or any reference to it. Also I have reference to a William Street Bo'ness any help would be appricieted  If anyone knows or has photo's of them Great. The family names are Paterson, Jeffrey, Kerr, The jeffrey's were from Polmont and were miners and railway workers. The Patersons were from Bo'ness and worked in the foundry's and Pottery. Any info, Memories or Photo's would be unbelievable.

Interested in the mention of William Street, because I seem to remember that a local street off West Bog, known locally as "The Buckie" was in reality William Street.  Can anyone confirm this?

Bruce Bill says

The street behind the post office was Register Street, William Street

The Buckie was off West Bog, now Bomar Avenue.

Thanks, Bruce Bill.  But The Buckie was only a local name for a street which, if my memory serves me well, was in fact William Street, off West Bog.

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
