All set for a great day for 101st Children's Fair
24 Jun 2009This year's celebrations will culminate with the crowning of the 101st Bo'ness Fair Queen, Shanagh Penman at the Town Hall at 11am.
Deanburn Primary pupil Shanagh (12), will be crowned by Margaret Cuthill at Friday's traditional ceremony, taking over the crown from last year's 100th queen, Eilidh Thomson.
After the coronation, the grand parade gets under way at 12.00 noon, with the pageants and floats making their way around the town.
Around the town, there will be over 130 spectacularly decorated arches to see in the run-up to the day - and on the morning of Thursday 25th June you can visit the "Glebe Park from 10am and watch the rehearsals for the big day on the Friday as the children have a trial run which last till approximately 12 noon.
In this Homecoming year, Bo'ness will be welcoming visitors (and former residents) from all over the world - as far afield as Australia and Germany.
There's even more details about the fair at the official Fair Website.
Valley FM, broadcasting from St Andrew's Church, will be broadcasting details of the fair on 87.7FM, and online at www.valleyfm.org.uk
