Bo'ness Children's Fair Festival is just about to kick off for another year.

The fair - held this year on Friday, June 27 - is a one of our town's most important events.

And this year promises to be as good as ever - if not better - with its fantastic line-up.

One of the main highlights of the day will be seeing the Queen Elect, Eilidh Thomson, getting crowned as Queen by Mrs Margaret Connarty.

Disappointingly, there will be no military band in the parade this year - but there will definitely be no shortage of musical talent to entertain the crowds.

Merchiston Castle School Pipes and Drums, who were a big hit last year, will be wowing the crowds.

And Unison Kinneil Silver Band and Bo'ness and Carriden Band - which are both celebrating their 150th anniversary this year - will be taking part in the parade, as well as Bo'ness Pipe Band, Linlithgow Reed Band, Sambalastic Band, and Wallacestone Pipe Band, to name a few.

Two big names are also on the Royal Command Performance bill at this year's fair - Seventies pop legend Les McKeown is taking to the stage with the Bay City Rollers, and Keith Jack, the runner-up in the BBC's Any Dream Will Do, will both appear.

The fair starts at 7.30am and finishes about 4.15pm.
