Bo'ness pool ready for re-opening after refurbishment

If you're looking to back in the water this summer, the swimming pool at Bo'ness Leisure centre will be re-opening to the public on Monday 31st May, after a 12-week delay to refurbishment work.

The pool, along with the steam room and sauna were closed at the end of September, for a programme of work costing £342,000. The work was initially due to take just five months, but this new date has now been set for the re-opening - the rest of the centre has been open throughout the refurbishment.

Great, looking forward to the opening and new sauna etc..

Staff doing a tremendous service to the public..pat on the back

Hopefully money was allocated to security issues for the building as the local neds will have a field day when they get allowed to run out of control in there.

Further to the reopening of swimming pool; the pool and changing area are great however, disappointingly there is no shower or toilet facilities in the steam/sauna area.  One needs a cold shower after using the sauna and I though the idea was to stay in sauna approx. 10-15mins and then have cold shower.  There are only 3 showers , two open showers just beside pool entrance and one cubicle. One has to leave the sauna/steam room and walk across full lengh of changing room (floors wet and muddy) and then back again every 10 mins, also none of the showers are cold!  When I spoke to the Manageress I was told that her staff should be keeping the floor area clean and that there was nothing could be done as it was an archetectural issue and advised putting a comment in the comments box.  I went regularly to the old sauna/steam room but will think twice now as it was just such a hassle and didn't make sense to me.  Staff. as usual, were helpful and doing a great job.
