Enjoy a Christmas cracker at the Bo'ness Hippodrome
15 Dec 2009The Bo'ness Hippodrome is celebrating its first Christmas since its renovation with a real cracker of a programme, with seasonal classics, and something for all the family.
Scotland's first purpose-built picture palace celebrates its first festive season with a tasty mix of classic films and festive fare.
The highlight is a glorious digital presentation of a live performance of 'The Nutcracker' by the Mariinsky Ballet (showing on Sunday 20 December and Thursday 24 December).
Seasonal treats also include Frank Capra's classic 'It's A Wonderful Life' (showing Saturday 19 December), 'White Christmas' starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye (Monday 21 December), 'The Bishop's Wife', starring Cary Grant (on Monday, 28 December and 'Meet Me in St Louis' with Judy Garland (on Saturday 19 December).
There'll also be seasonal food and drink on offer, too, with mince pies on the menu at the daytime 'cuppa' screenings and a glass of bubbly at the ballet as well as the Hippodrome's usual array of refreshments which includes Ben and Jerry's ice cream, locally produced Hippodrome beer, and, of course, popcorn!
