Meet Thomas the Tank Engine in Bo’ness!
Thousands of young visitors and their families will be heading to The Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway soon to meet Thomas the Tank Engine!
The Day Out With Thomas, on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday 23, will include a rail journey on one of the friends of Thomas the Tank Engine, entertainers, face painting, bouncy castles, roundabouts and competitions.
Amanda Kilburn, Business Development Director at the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway said: “We are delighted to once again host a Day Out With Thomas Weekend. It is clear to see the joy the event brings on the faces of every visitor.
“Our volunteers ensure that everyone has a wonderful time and is looked after. We are also pleased that The Fat Controller himself will be around to keep an eye on his very useful engines!”
The Day Out With Thomas weekend is part of a programme of events taking place at the railway. Tickets are selling fast for this popular event which brings in thousands of visitors to the area.
Visitors pay a flat fare of £9.50 (under twos go free) which includes the return journey to Birkhill as well as entertainment in the way of magic shows, Punch and Judy, craft area, face painting, fairground rides, storytelling, DVDs of Thomas and Friends and more, both at Birkhill and Bo’ness Stations.
The Museum of Scottish Railways is open as usual, as is the Model Railway at Bo’ness Station. There will be a limited amount of tickets available on the day of the event but It is advisable to pre-book for and this can be done here or by calling 08444 77 1000.
The Scottish Railway Preservation Society, who are the operators of this three times a year event are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the site on this very special weekend.
