New car joy for Bo'ness boy Logan
The latest fundraiser for little Logan Fox has raised over £1,700, enough for his parents Lianne and Adam to buy him a specially-adapted car.
The entertainment night at Linlithgow Rose Club included a raffle, a bingo and live singers and was a huge success. Lianne, a hairdresser at Chakir in Linlithgow, said: "It was a really good night and it was completely packed out. It was a big, big turnout - a full house.
"We had about eight or nine acts, all singers. They were all really good. We raised about £333 on the raffle and the bingo brought in just over £100. We raised all the rest from the ticket sales. It was fantastic and everybody had a great time."
As s1bo'ness has reported previously, five-year-old Logan has diplegic cerebral palsy and is unable to walk unaided. His parents are trying to raise as much money as they can to adapt their home in Liddle Drive to cater to his needs. With the cash raised, the Foxes have been looking to install a stairlift and wet room and to buy an adapted car.
Last month, Adam and a group of friends took part in a sponsored climb up Ben Nevis. The event has now raised well over £5,000, allowing the family to fit a stairlift for Logan. And now, after the Rose Club event last week, the Foxes are able to purchase Logan's next requirement.
Lianne said: "We're now looking into buying the car. That's a stairlift we've managed to get and now it looks like we'll be able to get the car. It's all going so well, everything's just coming together."
Local businesses in the community have been pulling together to do their bit for little Logan. Staff at the Clydesdale Bank in Linlithgow are organising a fundraiser and have already donated £50.
And Local entertainer Gregor Gee, who introduced the live acts at the Rose Club event, is due to perform at the next event - Logie's Crystal Ball in September at Richmond Park.
Lianne said: "Now we've got this big thing in September coming up. The money raised from that will be for renovations and adaptations in our house, especially for the bathroom. What I'm aiming for is to rearrange the bathroom and build it into my bedroom but we'll need to see what exactly can be done.
"After that, we will just be using the remaining funds for Logan's needs. Next year it will just be the odd couple of fundraisers. It's all going well. Everything seems to be turning out nicely."
