Nicole Bell is Bo'ness Fair Queen 2012!

Well done to 11-year-old Nicole Bell who is the 2012 Bo'ness Fair Queen!

Pupils at Bo'ness Public School have chosen Nicole, from Bonhard Way, as their Queen Elect for 2012.

Nicole, who lives with mum Janet, dad James and big brother Martin, 21, will take over from reigning Queen, Erin Meikle. Nicole was excited to find out she had been chosen for the royal title and best friend, Carla Hogarth as her Chief Lady in Waiting.

Nicole's mum, Janet, said: "I think it was a bit of a shock to her at first.

"To be the Queen at the fair is such a big thing. She says it's been her dream.

"Her wee best friend's the best lady and they're both really excited."

As Fair Queen, Nicole will have to carry out various duties over the coming year, such as switching on the Christmas lights in December 2012 and representing the fair committee at fundraising events.

As yet, she has still to choose her dress which, according to fair tradition, will have to be cream or white.

Carla Hogarth will be Nicole's Chief Lady in Waiting and Joe Young, the Queen's Champion.
