Robin Hood theme promises merry day of fun at Kinneil House in Bo'ness
26 August
There's something for everyone at Kinneil Estate this weekend, with large crowds expected on Sunday 29th August 29 for its annual Heritage Event.
And this year the fun day has a Robin Hood theme, with archers, merry men, and medieval fun and games are promised.
The fun kicks off at 12 noon with free tours inside Kinneil House (last admission 3.30 pm), with the event formally kicking off in the grounds at 12.30 pm. Things will wrap up around 4.30pm.
For children there will be workshops, merry men games, Robin Hood puppets as well as storytelling and face painting. If you come along dressed as a Robin Hood character, you could win a prize.
In the main arena there will be birds of prey as well as come-and-try sessions from the Falkirk Company of Archers. Other attractions will include a charity market, inflatables and a climbing wall. It should be a great, free fun day out."
The Council's leisure convener, Bo'ness Councillor Adrian Mahoney will be doing his bit, lending a hand as a volunteer guide inside Kinneil House (open for four hours on Sunday afternoon). The House boasts some of the best renaissance wall paintings in Scotland, and free tours inside are always popular.
