Scottish successes for Bo'ness bowlers

Bo'ness bowlers enjoyed a successful Scottish Championships at Ayr's Northfield greens - with the Kinneil Club ladies four of Moira Beecroft, Margaret McLintock, Elize Miller and Ellen Carr reaching the last eight of the national finals.

The Kinneil team beat Larkhall 21-19 in the first round, followed by a 17-9 win over Polton in round two. However they went out in the last eight against Barnhill, losing 16-12 on Saturday.

In the men's singles event, Ewan Shearer of Bo'ness Bowling Club beat James Fernie of Cupar in the first round 21-11, before going out 21-15 to Robert Marshall of Slateford.
