Speed cameras in Bo’ness - don’t get caught out!
Keep an eye out for the speed cameras in Bo’ness this week!
The mobile safety units will be operating on the A706 Linlithgow Road and the A993 Dean Road from the week beginning Monday, July 23.
Central Scotland Safety Camera Partnership manager, Neil MacSporran, said: “Speed limits are the maximum speed anyone should drive at, but it does not mean it is safe to drive at that speed at all times.
“I would remind motorists that they should drive according to the road and weather conditions. Treat driving as a privilege and give consideration to others.”
The aim is to improve safety, not to catch you speeding, so the mobile units will be highly visible and sign-posted.
They can take a photograph of the vehicle both approaching and receding. Usually the photos are of approaching vehicles.
The camera is operated either from the back or the side of the van. Mobile cameras produce a continuous film, so you will not be flashed. This film is read by authorised officers.
